This is the home of the Southern Tier Board of Approved Basketball Officials. We are a group of basketball officials, in the Southern Tier of upstate New York, who officiate local, high school and college basketball in the Southern Tier of New York and the Northern Tier of Pennsylviania.
Board 49 is dedicated to the continuing development of basketball referees. We provide a forum for members to meet and discuss basketball, refereeing, and related matters. We also provide ongoing training and developmental assessments for all Board members.
Board 49 stronly believes that a referee's first and foremost responsibility is to the game of basketball... to insure a safe venue for every player - regardless of age, skill or experience.
